Organization is the key to the most successful fundraising campaigns.

Consider these fundraising tips to help make your campaign run smoothly:

  • Select a campaign coordinator who will be the key point of contact for the administration of your campaign.
  • Define your campaign goals -- how much money do you want to raise?
  • Establish how many participants will be selling as part of your campaign team.
  • Based on your campaign goals, set sales targets for each sales "volunteer".
  • Recruit as many volunteers as possible, remembering that "many hands make light work".
  • Ensure that your volunteers are committed to your campaign.
  • Provide volunteers with a briefing of your campaign goals, what the money is being raised for etc. -- potential customers may want to know this information.
  • Put together a campaign schedule that includes the following dates: 
    • product order date
    • campaign announcement to your team of fundraising volunteers
    • sales campaign duration
    • deadline for return of fundraising money
    • announcement date for campaign results
  • Create some "buzz" with your sales team as well as your target market by doing some pre-campaign promotion.
  • Remind your sales "volunteers" about the importance of safety!
  • Your sales "volunteers" will find it much easier to sell if they believe in your organization and your campaign goals and if they make the entire experience fun!
  • It's much easier for sales "volunteers" to warm-up by selling to family, friends, work associates or neighbours.
